Trips have always been part and parcel of my life.

During my childhood, I travelled through pictures and by designing and imagining cities, buildings, and landscapes. Then, in my youth, I traded pen and paper for maps and tourist guides. 

At the time, neither the Internet search engines nor the social networks had come into existence yet. Everything was handmade.

I was inspired by literature related to trips: from Gulliver’s Travels to Sinbad the Sailor, from Thomas Cook to Jacques Cousteau, and from Marco Polo to The Adventures of Asterix.
Furthermore, I was fascinated by the classical mythology of Ulysses and The Odyssey. In addition, I studied the crusaders’ expeditions in the Middle Ages, the age of the navigators, and the age of discovery, and delved into the works of 18th-century illustrated travelers like Stendhal, Goethe, and Lord Byron. The Choose Your Own Adventure stories were my favorite books.
